The Finnmark combination barrel sauna gives you two kinds of heat in one outdoor barrel. Turn on the Spectrum Plus infrared heaters for a gentle, deep sweat that warms up fast, or fire up the 4.5kW traditional heater and pour water on the rocks for real steam at up to 190°F. It is a 6×6 barrel built from 1½-inch staves with a shingle roof, a two-tier bench and a Wi-Fi touchscreen. Choose the FD-6 in clear Western Red Cedar or the FD-7 in Thermo-Aspen.

What’s in the box
Pre-cut staves, front and back panels, front trim, metal bands and clamps, shingles and insulating layer, benches and duckboard, door handle, outdoor power cover, power cord, under-bench LED light, drain and all screws. A basic level and pencil are included too.
Plan your site
- Footprint: the barrel is 75″ × 75″. Leave room to walk around it for assembly and upkeep.
- Base: set it on a flat, level, solid base like a concrete pad, pavers or a strong deck. It weighs 830 lbs empty.
- Power: the infrared heaters and lights run on 120V 15A. The 4.5kW traditional heater needs its own 240V circuit, so plan on an electrician. The manual lists the breaker and wire sizes.
- Delivery: it comes by freight truck on a pallet about 60″ × 80″ × 80″. You will need a way to unload it and help to move parts to the site.
- Wood care: cedar outside will weather to gray unless you seal it. Thermo-Aspen holds its color longer.

Can I use the infrared and the traditional heater at the same time?
The barrel has both heaters in one room. Most people use infrared for a gentle session and the traditional heater when they want high heat and steam. Check the manual for how the controller runs them together.
What is the difference between the FD-6 and FD-7?
Only the wood. The FD-6 is Western Red Cedar and the FD-7 is Thermo-Aspen. Size, heaters, controls and features are the same. The FD-7 costs $500 less.
What electrical do I need?
The 4.5kW traditional heater needs a dedicated 240V circuit. The infrared heaters and lights run on 120V 15A. Have a licensed electrician hook it up using the manual's specs.
How many people does it fit?
It seats 4 to 6 people. The upper bench is 72 inches long and 24 inches deep, with a lower bench below, so one person can also lie down.
Can it stay outside all winter?
Yes. It is built for outdoor use with thick 1½-inch staves and a shingle roof. Set it on a level, solid base and keep the roof and wood maintained.
Is shipping free?
Yes, freight shipping is free to the lower 48 states. Canada is $490 and Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico need a quote.
How long until it ships?
Lead times vary by model and season. We confirm the timeline when you order and contact you before it ships.
What do I need to set it on?
A level, solid base. A concrete pad, pavers, a compacted gravel pad or a sturdy deck all work. Ask us if you're not sure about your spot.
Do I need an electrician?
For an electric heater, yes. Most need a dedicated 240V circuit installed by a licensed electrician. Wood-burning heaters need no electrical at all.
